Coastal Patrol 18 on FCTV with Video

January 24, 2012 in Cadet Activities Officer, General News by Tricia Doughty

On Jan 12, 2012 Capt.  Mills and c/SA Holler appeared on FCTV (local Falmouth channel).  They spoke of  the personal rewards of being a member of the Coastal Patrol 18 Cape Cod Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Squadron.  The host, Kevin Callahan was impressed with the history of CAP and the positive  impact the organization has on the youth living in the Cape Cod and Surrounding Communities.

Captain Mills spoke of the service CAP provides to the local community and how CAP is the Civilian Auxillary of the USAF.  In response to questions by the host Kevin Callahan, Capt Mills was able to touch on some of the lesser known details of CAP, such as: CAP owns the largest fleet of single-engine piston aircraft in the nation and how CAP pilots  fly those planes to perform CAP missions in service to their local communities, their helping of patroling coastal areas during world war 2, and how today CAP continues to do missions for the Air Force,  and how CAP, many times, is the first to be able to offer arial views of areas devasted by disaster.

c/SA Holler, spoke of how being a member of Coastal Patrol 18 Cape Cod CAP is helping him to develop leadership skills and a sense of accomplishment. He spoke of  his long term goals. Capt Mills added that cadets like c/SA Holler are what makes the organization great.

We at Coastal Patrol 18 Cape Cod CAP would like to thank FCTV and the Cape Cod and Surrounding Communities for their continued support of our organization .
